This lone structure is near Jordan, Georgia. Another cultural symbol from a bygone era. A portrait that represents farming and the America forest with a low-to-the-ground aesthetic. This place always reminds me of tree farmer Chuck Leavell, keyboardist for the Rolling Stones, the Allman Brothers Band and a long list of others.
I interviewed Chuck various times, and he spoke at the same 2008 Georgia Music Hall of Fame ceremony for which I was commissioned to write Widespread Panic‘s induction. Leavell runs a tree farm, Charlane Plantation, in Dry Branch, Georgia.
